when asked what fans should expect, selena explained, " i basically want to make music that is fun and that parents and kids can jump around to and have a good time to." she's also drawn inspiration from paramore frontwoman hayley williams. " i look up to her because it's really hard to be the only girl in a band, and she handles herself and carries herself wonderfully".

and while selena's close pals, demi lovato and the jonas brothers, have a wealth of knowledge and advice to share, selena insists that she hopes to draw upon her own unique sound in studio." you know the [jonas] boys and people like demi [lovato] are my friends, so i definetly would not copy or do anything that they did", she told mtv news." they're really good, obviously, at what they're doing , so i'm going to let them have that. but it's also just kind of fun to learn things".
